About Me

Danyelle (The Person)

I’m Danyelle – a writer and aspiring author. I love words, eloquent smooth sounding phrases are like melodies to my heart and a balm to my soul. As a child, I listened to my parents fervently share their viewpoints on random topics in a way that impressed upon me the weightiness and beauty of communicating something “just right”. They had different opinions, but the way they shared them was harmonious. Their exchanges made me want to become a student of language and made me sensitive to how words were used.

Although writing came to me naturally – at least from a technical standpoint – reading became more of a desire of mine as I matured and pursued my interests. I used to feel overwhelmed by the thought of so many options of books to read at the library. Now, ironically enough, libraries are one of my favorite places. As my love for reading began to blossom, I learned how important it is for the formation of a person. The books that I read shaped who I was as a person.

Prior to dedicating my life to Christ, I spent quite a bit of time fixated on how to cure the world’s ills. By adopting many powerful ideas from the books I read and the things I heard, I became convinced that education was the key to opportunity, freedom, and prosperity. As a result, I spent many years of my career focused on alleviating the persistent social inequities in the education system by my own strength and ingenuity. While pursuing this mission, the Lord revealed Himself to me and I’ve never been the same. In the midst of putting the world on my shoulders and experiencing disappointment after disappointment, the Lord showed me that the real answer to the problem is Him.

As a teacher, I’m still pursuing justice for children and families. However, now, I am also dedicating my time and talents to share the gospel creatively and inspire people to get to know Him. Words convey meaning that can bring truth and revelation. My hope and prayer is that what I write helps someone to receive revelation and walk in freedom.
